Service Opportunities
Peace & Justice Team
The Peace and Justice Team has a long-standing history in our parish of providing educational programs and service outreach to promote social justice. Educational efforts have included publication of Reverend Charles Ritter’s article “Catholic Teaching on Social Justice and its Implications”; hosted a Christian-Muslim dialogue, and programs that have addressed Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si, the climate crisis, human trafficking, and immigration. Service projects supported include year-round sales of Fair Trade products including coffee, assisting with the Community Meals program, aid to migrant workers, coordination of monthly food donations to the Huron Helping Hands Food Pantry, as well as annual collections of school supplies and winter coats for those served by the Pantry. Meetings are held monthly.
Prayer Network
The parish has a dedicated group of parishioners offering intercessory prayer upon request. If you have a special intention or would like to join the network, please contact us below.
Quilting Group
Our parish quilters meet once a month on Wednesday afternoons to share fellowship and to create baptismal quilts. These beautiful quilts are given as gifts to every baby baptized at St. Peter Parish. Please join us if you are crafty!
St. Vincent de Paul Society
This is an international Catholic association of laypeople that seek, in a spirit of justice and charity and by person-to-person involvement of its members, to help those who are financially in need. The society is solely supported by the generosity of the parish community during the once a month collection. Anyone needing assistance must live in Huron or Berlin Heights and should contact the parish office below.
Funeral Luncheon Service
Volunteers prepare and serve food and beverages after funerals at the parish and offer compassion to those who have suffered the loss of a loved one. If you would like to help out with this ministry, please contact the parish office below.

If you have a green thumb or enjoy working outdoors, consider joining the parish landscaping group. This group keeps the parish grounds looking neat and well-tended. For more information contact the parish office below.
